Why Did Sally Suddenly Agree To Own Newman Media?

The fans of The Young and the Restless are confused about Sally’s latest move towards Billy. After criticizing Billy for his shady deals, she suddenly accepted Newman Media. Why did she change her mind?

Why did Sally accept Billy’s gift in The Young and the Restless?

The Young and the Restless viewers saw a big shift in Sally’s behavior towards Billy after the Valentine’s Day episode. When Billy Abbott gave Sally Spectra Newman Media as a gift, she was furious. She did not like that Billy helped steal companies from Victor Newman.

She felt upset about the backstabbing involving Cane and Phyllis. Sally also made it clear she did not want to benefit from something that was acquired illegally. At the time, Sally rejected the gift.

She even told Adam Newman that she did not want to be involved in this. She insisted that running Newman Media and folding it into Abbott Communications was Billy’s idea, not hers. However, she then suddenly seemed fine with owning Newman Media.

Sally even told Audra Charles that she got NM as part of Billy’s deal to reclaim Chancellor Industries. But later, her anger about how the company was obtained appeared to have disappeared. The shift feels strange because Sally previously broke up with Billy over his illegal business actions.

However, it seems the reason she accepted the gift was that she wanted him to stay on the right path. Sally has tried to turn Billy into a better person. She has pushed him to stay honest and do the right thing. She even broke up with him after he took some illegal actions. But now she is keeping Newman Media, even though it was also taken by unfair means. While that doesn’t match her character, her caring nature for Billy could be the reason for accepting the gift without thinking about the repercussions.

It also raises questions about how Jill, the main investor at Abbott Communications, and Victor, who owns Newman Media, would react. As of now, Sally’s actions seem to contradict everything she previously stood for. By accepting Newman Media, Sally has put herself in a tough spot.
