Debate broke out on ‘Bottle’, SP-BJP face to face on inflation issue. Bottle Remark Row
Uttar Pradesh Inflation was being discussed on the last day of the budget session in the Assembly. In between, suddenly the mood of the House changed so much regarding the ‘bottle’ that the budget session became ‘bottle session’ for some time. When the Samajwadi Party MLA said in poetry – “The oil bottle is asking…” it seemed as if inflation itself was standing in the House demanding an account from the government. While the opposition called it a pain in the pocket of the common man, the ruling party turned it into a political jibe. At the same time, Speaker Satish Mahana asked such a question that everyone in the House started laughing loudly.
Then what happened, the answer came from the ruling party and the matter went straight to the ‘bottle’. Then Speaker Satish Mahana smilingly asked the question – “Which bottle?” All that was needed to hear was that laughter resounded in the House. For some time, inflation, unemployment and statistics were all left behind, and the ‘bottle’ became the biggest issue. Not only this, BJP and SP MLAs came face to face.
Actually, this is the specialty of politics. Sometimes even a serious debate is transformed into poetry, and sometimes a single word fills the entire house with laughter. But the message of the SP MLA hidden behind the laughter was clear. The attack on inflation continues, only the tone has become a bit clownish.
What is the whole matter, why did BJP-SP MLAs clash with each other?
The issue of inflation was being discussed on the last day of the budget session 2026 of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MLAs took the help of poetry to corner the government. The atmosphere was light-hearted in the beginning, but it soon turned into a political dispute.
Why did Speaker Mahana interrupt MLA Ashu Malik?
SP MLA Ashu Malik started reciting poetry on inflation and black marketing. On this, Speaker Satish Mahana interrupted him and asked him to ask questions directly. On this the MLA said that only a minute has passed, but the Speaker showed strictness and said that this does not mean that anything can be said. Despite this, the SP’s taunting of the government continued.
Why did the poetry of ‘Oil Bottle’ increase the political temperature?
Meanwhile, during the debate in the UP Assembly, SP MLA R.K. Verma started reciting poetry on inflation. The SP MLA said poetically – “The oil bottle is asking, why are you looking at me so much, earlier you used to buy me, now why are you thinking so much.”
Through this poetry, SP MLA Verma tried to put the government in the dock on the issue of inflation. The opposition said that the rising prices have directly affected the pockets of the common man. Everyone is worried and the government is indifferent. All this will not work. Answer the inflation question first.
Why did the House echo with the Minister’s sarcasm and the Speaker’s question?
On behalf of the ruling party, Sugarcane Minister Lakshmi Narayan Choudhary took a dig at SP’s poetry and said that they are finding the bottle very expensive and perhaps its prices have increased. Amidst his statement, Speaker Satish Mahana asked smilingly – “Which bottle?”
There was laughter in the entire House on this question of Speaker Mahana. The atmosphere became lighter for a few moments, but the political message was clear that both sides were interpreting the meaning of ‘bottle’ in their own way.
Did the issue of unemployment allowance also become heated?
Taking advantage of the opportunity, amidst the debate on inflation, Samajwadi Party also raised the issue of unemployment allowance. SP MLAs asked that when the government is not able to provide employment to the youth, will SP give unemployment allowance like the government?
In response to this, Minister Anil Rajbhar clearly said that the government is not planning to give any kind of unemployment allowance. Dissatisfied with this reply of the minister, SP MLAs protested.
Why did the situation of walkout arise and what happened next?
After a heated debate on the issue of employment and unemployment, SP MLA Mata Prasad called for a walkout. The MLAs got up from their seats and started leaving. Then Speaker Satish Mahana said in a light manner – “Hey, I don’t feel like going… you all sit down, today is the last day, I want everyone to stay.”
A few seconds after the Speaker’s comment, the SP MLAs returned and sat on their seats. Once again the proceedings proceeded amidst light laughter in the House.
Has the inflation debate turned into a political spat?
The real truth is that the discussion that started with inflation turned into a political spat amidst ‘bottle’ taunts and laughter. While the opposition was seen cornering the government over inflation and unemployment, the ruling party also hit back through sarcasm and counter-sarcasm.
This incident on the last day of the UP Assembly Budget Session 2026 shows that even on serious issues in the Assembly, sometimes political style and light-hearted sarcasm give a different color to the atmosphere.
