‘It is important to give time to family and area’… Hemant Katare resigns from the post of Deputy LoP

Tezzbuzz Desk – A new turn came in the politics of Madhya Pradesh when Congress MLA from Ater Hemant Katare resigned from the post of Deputy Leader of Opposition. He sent his resignation to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. In the letter, Katare wrote that he was not able to give enough time to his family and the people of his assembly constituency, hence he decided to leave this responsibility. He also said that whoever the party gives this responsibility to will give full cooperation and expressed his gratitude towards the organization.

After his resignation, Katare targeted BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya through a social media post. He said that decorum of words and conduct is very important on the highest democratic platform like the Assembly. Referring to the incident related to Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, Katare expressed expectation of restraint and decency from senior leaders.

Katare said that dissent is a right of democracy, but it is equally important to maintain the dignity of expression. Meanwhile, Umang Singhar made it clear that Congress will continue to strongly raise the issues of electricity rates, unemployment, tribal land and farmers.
