Virender Sehwag takes cheeky dig at Farhan over documentary

Former India opener Virender Sehwag has once again stirred conversation with his trademark humour, this time taking a playful swipe at Pakistan batsman Sahibzada Farhan over his much-discussed documentary.

In a viral clip shared by Fever FM, Sehwag reacted to Farhan featuring in a documentary after hitting three sixes off Jasprit Bumrah during the Asia Cup. Known for his sharp wit, Sehwag questioned the scale of celebration around the moment.

“According to him, he hit three sixes, and that became a full documentary. By that logic, I should probably have a web series for my 300, 254 and 100,” Sehwag joked. “You didn’t dominate every bowler, but you made a documentary on just three sixes. That’s an art, a special talent, but maybe don’t show off that talent too much.”

Farhan appeared in a documentary titled Hero in the Making, released after the Asia Cup, where he reflected on his performance against Bumrah. At the time, Bumrah had gone a lengthy spell in T20Is without conceding a six, and Farhan’s clean hitting quickly became a viral talking point in Pakistan.

The right-hander scored 217 runs in that Asia Cup campaign and showed confidence against India’s premier fast bowler, though Pakistan went on to lose all three encounters against their rivals, including the final.

In the recent ICC Men’s T20 World Cup clash against India, however, Farhan was dismissed for a duck after facing just four deliveries. The failure triggered criticism online, with several fans revisiting the documentary and accusing him of magnifying a fleeting highlight instead of building sustained consistency.

Farhan did respond strongly later in the tournament, scoring a century against Namibia in a must-win fixture to keep his side’s hopes alive.
