A 6 year old girl going to school with her grandmother was hit by a car in Delhi, died; The family said – no one helped
A 6-year-old girl died after being hit by a speeding car in Janakpuri area of Delhi. The incident took place on February 17 at around 7.40 am. The girl’s maternal grandmother, Mercy Xavier, was also seriously injured. She told- I was going to drop my granddaughter to school in an e-rickshaw. Then a speeding car hit our rickshaw. Before I could understand anything, I fell on the road. When I regained consciousness, my granddaughter was lying near me. My hand was wet with blood.
Xavier told that I sought help from the people present there, asked the car driver for help, but he ran away. No one helped me. The girl died during treatment. On the incident, police said that the accused car driver has been arrested. CCTV footage of the place where the incident took place is also being extracted.
Girl’s mother said- Control over careless driving is necessary
On the incident, the victim’s mother said- I work in a hospital. An employee here told me that my mother was crying on the road. My daughter is not able to breathe. It is important to control careless driving. Anyone’s life can be lost in a second. Police should take action on this. We have nothing more to say than this.
