Heading into the 2025-26 NBA season, Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham had the seventh-best odds to win NBA Most Valuable Player according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
But one (40-point and 13-assist) game after All-Star break, he’s now up to third behind just OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Denver’s Nikola Jokic.
The win extends the Pistons winning streak to four games, and at 41-13 Detroit has a 5.5-game lead over the Boston Celtics for first place in the Eastern Conference. It was also Cunningham’s third 40-point effort of the season, making him the 11th player in Pistons history with at least three in one campaign.
