T20 WC 2026: Money rains on 12 teams out of group stage including Australia, ICC will give crores of prize money
T20 WC 2026 Prize Money: The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is being co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, and the tournament has seen many major upsets since its inception. Last time, USA had eliminated Pakistan from the tournament by defeating them, this time Zimbabwe created history by defeating a great team like Australia in the group stage and eliminated them from the Super-8 race.
By the end of the group stage, a total of 12 teams have been eliminated from the tournament. Although there is certainly the pain of defeat on the field, but on the economic front these teams will not remain empty-handed. ICC has made a big increase in the prize money this time, due to which even the eliminated teams will return home with crores of rupees.
T20 WC 2026: How much money will the teams eliminated from the group stage get?
ICC has increased the total prize money this time by about 20 percent compared to the 2024 edition. Under this, every team that is out of the group stage will get at least Rs 2.29 crore (about 2,50,000 US dollars). Apart from this, a bonus of about Rs 26 lakh will also be given for every win in the group stage.

This time the list of teams eliminated from the group stage includes many big and emerging cricket nations. Apart from Australia, Afghanistan, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, UAE and America could not make it to the Super-8.
T20 WC 2026: Teams reached Super-8 and their earnings
A total of 20 teams took part in the tournament (T20 WC 2026), out of which 8 teams have now reached the Super-8 stage. India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa, England, Zimbabwe and West Indies have made it to the next round.
Each team eliminated from the Super-8 will get Rs 3.48 crore, while the teams that lose the semi-finals will be given an amount of around Rs 7.24 crore. Whereas the runner up will get a huge prize money of around Rs 14.65 crore and the winning team will get Rs 27.48 crore.
