What is the whole controversy
Actually, Jharkhand Public Service Commission has fixed August 1, 2026 as the cut-off date for calculating the maximum age limit for the 14th JPSC examination under Advertisement No. 01/2026. The candidates argue that the examinations are not being conducted regularly by the Commission. Due to which a large number of eligible candidates have crossed the age limit without appearing for the examination.
Problem arising from not conducting examination on time
On behalf of the petitioners, it was argued in the court that if JPSC had conducted the examinations on time, this situation would not have arisen today. Therefore, the maximum age limit should be calculated from August 1, 2018. So that the candidates do not have to suffer the loss of delay in the examination. Considering this argument as serious, the High Court has given relief to the candidates who have filed the petition. This will give an opportunity to those candidates who were not able to apply till now due to the age limit dispute.
