Online Process to Deactivate Aadhaar
UIDAI has ‘Reporting of Death of a Family Member’ A new feature named .has been added to the portal.
Go to myAadhaar portal: First of all go to the official website of UIDAI myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
Login: Any family member (like spouse, child or legal heir) can login using their own Aadhaar number and OTP.
Select option: on the dashboard ‘Report Death of a Family Member’ Click on Options.
Fill in the details of the deceased: Here you have to enter the Aadhaar number, name, date of birth and date of death of the deceased.
Death Certificate: Upload the scanned copy (PDF/JPEG) of ‘Death Certificate’ and death registration number issued by the Municipal Corporation or Registrar.
Verify Relationship: The person making the report must state his or her relationship to the deceased and confirm his or her identity.
Submission: After checking the information press ‘Submit’ button. After Verification within 90 days The Aadhaar number will be marked as “Deactivated due to death” in the system.
