Demand to remove Kotwali in-charge in Lambhua intensifies
Lambhua/Sultanpur. A strong demonstration was held in the Lambhua tehsil complex on Friday in protest against the alleged misbehavior with the journalist during the coverage of Amit Singh murder case in Madanpur of Lambhua Kotwali area. A large number of officials and workers of farmers union and various social organizations along with journalists participated in the demonstration organized under the banner of Akhand Journalist Welfare Association.
After the demonstration, a memorandum addressed to District Magistrate Sultanpur demanding the removal of Inspector in-charge of Lambhua Kotwali from the post was handed over to Sub-District Magistrate Lambhua. In the absence of the Sub-Collector, Naib Tehsildar Abhayraj Pal received the memorandum. In the protest, Bharatiya Kisan Union, Human Rights Protection Organization and other organizations showed solidarity and strongly condemned the incident. Speakers said that journalists are the fourth pillar of democracy and ill-treatment of them is against democratic values.
Deputy District Magistrate Gamini Singla (IAS) while talking to the journalists assured that the matter will be informed to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police and after investigation, action will be taken as per rules. The protesters warned of intensifying the agitation if there is no fair investigation and prompt action.
