The White House has given the answer to this. News agency IANS quoted a White House official as saying that currently 10 percent tariff will be imposed on India. According to a White House official, at present only 10 percent tariff will be imposed on other countries. That means, till the next decision of Donald Trump, the tariff on India has been reduced by 8 percent. India and America had recently announced a trade agreement.

Earlier it was reported that the additional 10 percent tariff imposed by Trump will be additional to the previously fixed tariff. It seemed that the tariff rate on India would be 28 percent by combining 18 and 10 percent. Whereas, when Trump announced the tariff in April 2025, it was 25 percent. Later, Trump imposed another 25 percent tariff on India by accusing it of helping in Ukraine war by buying crude oil from Russia. Recently, after the trade agreement was decided, Trump had reduced this tariff to 18 percent. Now after the decision of the Supreme Court of America, at present India will have to pay only 10 percent tariff.

Along with this, US President Donald Trump once again praised PM Narendra Modi. Trump said that PM Modi is great. The US President also said that PM Modi is smarter than the people standing against him. On media’s question, he also said that there will be no impact on the trade agreement between India and America. However, Trump is very angry with the decision of the US Supreme Court. Earlier also Trump had said that if the Supreme Court decides to remove the tariff, it will be very harmful for America. Trump had said that tariffs are protecting America’s industries and workers. Besides, he has also stopped the loss caused to America till now.
