What is ICC’s rule?
Like the group stage matches, Super-8 matches will also be played in Sri Lanka and India. Continuous rain continues in the capital Colombo. Regarding this, the question coming again and again in the minds of sports lovers is what will happen if the match is cancelled? Let us tell you that there is no provision of reserve day for Super-8, like there is in the group stage. According to ICC rules, it is mandatory for both the teams to play at least 5-5 overs in a T-20 match. If seen in this way, the umpires will try their best to complete the match in every situation, so that results can be obtained.
If even 5-5 overs match is not played between the two teams due to rain, then the match will be cancelled. Both teams will be given 1 point each. There will be no winner of the match. Both the teams will get equal points in the points table.

1 team will have to play three matches
Every team will get a chance to play three matches in the Super-8 of the T-20 World Cup. If seen this way, every match becomes important. Each match in Super-8 is for two points. This is the reason why the team loses the opportunity to win if the match is washed out due to rain, which is a big blow in the race for the semi-finals. The teams which are ahead or behind in net run rate will suffer losses.
