Case going on since 2012
Rajpal Yadav’s court case is going on since 2012. He had given a loan of Rs 5 crore from businessman Madhav Gopal Aggarwal for the film “Ata Pata Lapata”. This was a loan, not an investment. But this film flopped. The money was not returned after the film flopped. With interest and penalty the amount increased to approximately Rs 9 crore. In the year 2018, Karkardooma Court of Delhi convicted Rajpal and also sentenced him to 6 months imprisonment. After this, settlements were made several times, but Rajpal did not make the payment on time. The court also warned several times. Then in February 2026, Delhi High Court ordered him to surrender. On February 5, Rajpal Yadav surrendered in Tihar Jail and spent about 12 days in Tihar Jail and on February 16, Delhi High Court granted him interim bail.
