Ayesha is not alone. A few months ago, actresses Rakul Preet Singh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Shriya Saran also reported similar cases.

Rakul shared a screenshot of her fake WhatsApp account and said, “Please note this isn’t my number. Do not engage in any random conversations.”

The Father of Jan of Heera Bathing revealed that a few people brought to her notice that someone has been pretending to be her on WhatsApp, using her pictures and messaging photographers about ‘photoshoots’.

On the other hand, Shriya expressed her frustration saying,  “Please stop writing to people and wasting time ! Unfortunately this is weird . I feel bad for wasting people time . This is not me ! Not my number.”

The rise of fake WhatsApp identities shows how celebrities are becoming targets in new ways.
