Adelaide T20: Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues’ half-centuries, India set Australia a target of 177 runs

On the strength of the explosive batting of Smriti Mandhana (82) and Jemimah Rodrigues (59), the Indian women’s team scored a challenging score of 176 runs for five wickets against Australia in the third T20 match on Saturday. Today here the Indian team won the toss and decided to bat first. Kim Garth gave the first blow to the Indian team who came to bat by dismissing Shefali Verma (seven) in the third over.
At such a time, Jemimah Rodrigues, who came to bat, handled the innings along with Smriti Mandhana and also scored runs at a fast pace. There was a partnership of 121 runs between the two batsmen for the second wicket. Annabel Sutherland broke this partnership by dismissing Smriti Mandhana in the 17th over. Smriti Mandhana played an inning of 82 runs in 55 balls hitting eight fours and three sixes.
Sophie Molineau dismissed Richa Ghosh (18) in the 19th over. Annabel Sutherland dismissed Jemimah Rodrigues on the third ball of the 20th over. Jemimah Rodrigues scored 59 runs in 46 balls with four fours. Amanjot Kaur (one) was run out on the very next ball. The Indian women’s team scored 176 runs for five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Annabel Sutherland took two wickets for Australia women’s team. Sophie Molineau and Kim Garth dismissed one batsman each.
