Serbia tells its citizens to leave Iran ‘as soon as possible’!

After Poland, Serbia has appealed to its citizens to leave Iran. The Serbian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on its website. “Due to the deteriorating security situation, citizens of the Republic of Serbia are not advised to travel to Iran. All persons currently in Iran are advised to leave the country as soon as possible,” the statement said.

In fact, America has made the largest military deployment in the Middle East in the last 22 years. US President Donald Trump is also threatening military action against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. Amidst all these warnings and threats, Serbia has appealed to its citizens in Iran to leave the country “as soon as possible”.

In January itself, the Balkan country had asked Serbian citizens to leave Iran and not go there. Mass protests were ongoing in the country in late December 2025 and early January 2026.

On Thursday itself, Polish PM Donald Tusk had appealed to his people not to go to Iran and return from there. He said that given the current situation, Polish citizens in Iran should leave immediately because “it will not be possible to leave within a few hours” due to the fear of armed conflict.

Tusk said, “Please leave Iran immediately… and do not go to this country under any circumstances.” “I don’t want to scare anyone, but we all know what I’m talking about. There is a possibility of fighting,” he was quoted as saying by media in the town of Zielska near Warsaw.

The Prime Minister warned that “it may not be possible to evacuate people in a few or very many hours.” He appealed to the people of Poland to take the warning seriously.

The Polish government did not provide details about how many Polish citizens are living in Iran.

“We have had bad experiences. Some people underestimate such appeals,” Tusk said.

Meanwhile, according to American media reports, if Trump decides to attack, he has many military options. These include limited and targeted attacks to military operations that can last for several weeks. Some also include preparations to target Tehran’s top leadership.
