Aiming to mainstream electric mobility in India Tata Motors has introduced the facelifted version of its popular Punch.EV with more attractive pricing and improved features. The key features of this model are real-world range of 355 km, fast charging and lifetime HV battery warranty.

With a starting price of Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the new Panch.EV, EV ownership in the entry-level segment is seen to be almost competitive with the on-road price of the ICE model. A battery-based financing option has also been made available by the company.

Range and battery options

The new Punch.EV comes with two battery options, 30 kWh and 40 kWh. The 40 kWh battery pack gives the C75 a real-world range of 355 km and a range of 468 km (ARAI certified). Hence, this car is useful for daily use in the city as well as for short intercity journeys.

Fast charging facility

This EV supports fast charging. The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. Also a 15 minute charge gives a range of around 135 km.

Lifetime battery warranty

The new Punch.EV comes with a Lifetime HV battery warranty covering unlimited km to increase customer confidence. This helps in reducing battery concerns.

Extended charging network

Tata.EV’s charging network is available in 1500 cities across the country with over 2.3 lakh charging points. 30000+ public chargers have been integrated in partnership with more than 30 charge point operators. 130+ mega charging hubs and 450+ superfast charging points have been set up on 80 routes on highways.

Price and Variants

The Smart variant with 30 kWh battery is priced at Rs 9.69 lakh and the Smart Plus is priced at Rs 10.29 lakh. The Smart (10.89 lakh), Adventure (11.59 lakh), Empowered (12.29 lakh) and Empowered+ S (12.59 lakh) options are available with a 40 kWh battery.

The new Panch.EV is expected to further accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India based on its affordable price, improved range and extensive charging network.
