Controversy over ‘The Kerala Story 2’, Shaina NC openly supported

The Kerala Story 2: The upcoming Hindi film ‘The Kerala Story 2’ has been embroiled in controversies since its trailer release. Many political parties and organizations have expressed objection to the portrayal of forced conversion in Kerala. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC has given an open statement in support of the film.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Shaina NC said that the film is an attempt to bring out the facts and it is not appropriate to call it a campaign to spread misinformation. He appealed to the people to understand both the sides to maintain peace in the society.

While talking to the media, Shayna NC said, "The film ‘Kerala Story 2’ is not a campaign to spread misinformation. The truth is that many girls have been converted in Kerala… This becomes clear when we study the case of 32,000 girls… This film aims to highlight this. All I would like to say to those opposing this is that if you want to maintain peace in the society, you should look at both sides and understand what is actually happening in Kerala."

Controversy increased due to trailer

In response to questions raised on the title of the sequel, Shah said, "Kerala Story 2 goes beyond Kerala and exposes a larger conspiracy of fraudulent conversions going on across India. Since its main theme is the same as Kerala Story 1, we have named it Kerala Story 2."

Release and background

‘The Kerala Story 2’, directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, is going to be released in theaters on February 27. It is the sequel to the 2023 film The Kerala Story, which was controversial at the time of its release, but later proved to be a commercial success and won two National Film Awards.

In the new film, the story has been taken forward with a completely new cast and a new director.
