Xavier Bartlett’s Personal Life

Xavier Bartlett was a champion swimmer before choosing cricket. He was a talented backstroke specialist and won several state-level swimming awards during his school years. He studied at The Southport School (TSS) on the Gold Coast and was known for his strong athletic build, developed through swimming.

Although he could have pursued swimming at a higher level, cricket became his main focus. He grew up in Adelaide before moving to the Gold Coast. At 15, he began training under former Australian fast bowler Andy Bichel, who became his long-time mentor. His father, Kym Bartlett, wanted him to learn fast bowling from Bichel.

His swimming background helped build his shoulder strength and fitness, which supports his pace bowling. Even during recovery sessions, he remains one of the strongest swimmers in the squad. In international cricket, he gained attention in his fifth ODI by dismissing Virat Kohli for a duck, along with other top-order wickets.

Xavier Bartlett Contract

Xavier Bartlett has been awarded a central contract by Cricket Australia for the 2025–26 season. He is part of the 23-player men’s central contract list announced on April 1, 2025.

Bartlett made his international debut in the previous season and played six matches during that contract cycle. Despite limited appearances, he was retained on the central list. This contract secures his place in Australia’s national setup for the 2025–26 season.
