Big conspiracy of Naxalites foiled in Bihar, 300 kg ammonium nitrate, 175 detonators recovered

Desk: Security forces have foiled a major conspiracy of Naxalites in Gayaji district of Bihar. A joint team of 215 battalion of CRPF and local police took action on the secret hideout of Naxalites hidden in the dense forests of Lutua police station area, from where a huge quantity of explosive material was recovered. This success is being considered an important achievement in anti-Naxal operations.

Intensive search operation of security forces: Security forces received secret information that Naxalites were planning to attack security forces. Based on this, CRPF 215 battalion and Gaya police started intensive search operation in the areas of Bhusia, Mahadev, Singhwa Bali, Shikari Kuan and Gularia Sharif mountain under Lutua police station. During the operation, a cave-like hideout was found in the forest of Laduiya mountain, where the Naxalites had made their base.
Hideout hidden in the dense forest: The Naxalites had built this secret hideout in the dense forest and hilly area, which is not easily visible. This area was considered safe for Naxalites as it was surrounded by forests. Security forces cordoned off the area and reached the hideout and discovered the material hidden there.

Explosive material recovered: In the action, security forces recovered about 300 kilograms (three quintals) of ammonium nitrate, 175 pieces of detonators, 1000 meters of codex wire (commercial wire) and a large quantity of other materials used in making IEDs. This material was collected on a large scale for explosive manufacturing.
Fear of major incident: It is clear from the amount of material recovered that Naxalites (Maoists) were planning an attack on security forces or some major target. Substances like ammonium nitrate and detonators are mainly used in making IEDs. This deadly intention was foiled due to the vigilance of the security forces.
CRPF Commandant’s statement: CRPF 215 Battalion Assistant Commandant Sanjit Kumar Pandey said on this success that the Naxalites’ plan was foiled due to the alertness and coordinated operation of the soldiers. He said that the search operation is going on and more action is being taken in the area so that Naxalite activities can be rooted out.
