Holi Guilt-free Gujiya : Whatever the festival, it is considered incomplete without sweets. Holi, the festival of colors, is about to come, and the market has already been decorated with it. Women have also made listings for making various dishes at home. The festival of Holi is not complete without Gujiya. Actually, according to the traditional recipe, Gujiya is prepared from flour. It has a filling of mawa and is prepared by frying it in ghee or oil. Then dip it in syrup and serve. It looks very tasty but can prove to be harmful for health because it is prepared from flour by frying it. But if you want, you can make Mawa Gujiya in air fryer without using ghee or oil. So this time try this recipe in Holi.
Ingredients (Holi Guilt-free Gujiya)
Flour-2 cups
Ghee (for moyan) – 2 tbsp
a pinch of salt
Mawa (khoya)-1 cup
Powdered sugar-½ cup
Semolina (lightly roasted) – 2 tbsp
Chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios) – 2 tbsp
Cardamom powder-½ tsp
Raisins-1 tablespoon
A little ghee or milk for brushing.
Prepare it with this easy recipe
1-Add flour, salt and ghee in a bowl and mix well. Mash it with hands and add flour (when the mixture starts binding when pressed, it is right).
2- Knead a stiff dough with lukewarm water. Cover and keep it for 20-25 minutes. Fry the mawa lightly in a pan (until it starts changing light color).
3- Turn off the gas and let it cool. Add powdered sugar, semolina, dry fruits, cardamom powder and raisins. Mix well.
4- Roll out small balls of dough. Place 1–2 spoons of filling in the middle. Apply light water on the edges, fold in half and seal the edges well. If you want, use Gujiya mold.
5-Preheat the air fryer at 180°C for 5 minutes. Brush the Gujiya with light ghee or milk. Air fry at 160–170°C for 10–15 minutes. Turn once in the middle so that both the sides become golden brown.
6. Instead of flour, you can also add half wheat flour. Keep the amount of sugar less as per taste. Add semolina for more crispiness. The air fryer mawa gujiya prepared in this way will taste exactly like traditional, but due to less oil, it will be a better option for health.
