Guskara 2 Gram Panchayat of Aushgram 1 Block of East Burdwan District has arranged digital security to strengthen the safety and services of women in the area. A special app called ‘Saathi’ has been launched. Recently this new app was launched. Where common people will get multiple benefits. Tapas Chattopadhyay, President of Aushgram 1 Panchayat Samiti, said, “This kind of service has been launched by the Panchayat initiative to ensure safety and emergency services, especially for women or students in remote rural areas. The principal deputy heads of the Panchayat will explain how to use this app in the schools of the area. They will give the password. This Sathi app has been launched for the purpose of providing quick safety and services to the students of the area.”

Nowadays women have to go out of education for various activities. Especially students have to go to tuition or coaching center from school. Naturally, parents have to worry. Not only that, there are many people who are alone at home. There is no one to call a doctor when he suddenly falls ill. Keeping all these things in mind, this app is claimed to be special. In this context, Panchayat Pradhan Namitha Khan, Deputy Panchayat Subir Mondal said that Guskara 2 Panchayat has been targeted to be made a ‘women friendly’ panchayat in the current financial year. For that purpose, this special app service called ‘Sathi’ has been launched in agreement with an organization.

It is known that there are currently four options in Sathi app. First related to allegations of eve teasing, second accidental. Thirdly for women in need of medical services during pregnancy. Apart from this, citizens can get services through the app for other reasons as well. Principal deputy principals are the admins of this app. The first notification will come to them. After that, Panchayat representatives will identify the location of the user and talk to him. After that, the panchayat will take action by contacting the police or the health department or the concerned department immediately.
