‘I am not Yogi Adityanath who can get the charges against me removed…’ Swami Avimukteshwaranand said on the court’s order in the sexual exploitation case.
Uttar Pradesh: The court order against Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of Jyotish Peeth in Prayagraj, the city of religion and faith, has created a stir in the religious circles of the entire country. Taking seriously the allegations of sexual harassment of minors, ADJ POCSO Special Court has issued strict instructions to Jhunsi police station to register a case. While on one hand the complainant has raised questions on the purity of the ashram, on the other hand Shankaracharya has termed these allegations as baseless and completely false.
The legal and social problems of the ashram have now increased.
POCSO Court Judge Vinod Kumar Chaurasia, after hearing the evidence and statements of the minors, has directed Jhunsi police to crack down on Shankaracharya and his disciple Mukundanand Giri. The court believes that an impartial and methodical investigation of the case is extremely important. After this order the police administration has now become active. This matter has come after the hearing on the application filed under Section 173(4), due to which the legal and social problems of the ashram have increased considerably.
Avimukteshwaranand termed it as a well-planned conspiracy
Breaking his silence on these serious allegations, Swami Avimukteshwaranand has called it a well-planned conspiracy against him. Taking a dig at the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, he said that he is not Yogi Adityanath who can get the allegations against him removed by the power of power. Swamy made it clear that he fully respects the law and will go to any extent to bring the truth out in front of everyone. They have also raised questions on the intentions of the complainant and his suspicious past.
Questions raised on the past of the complainant
Shankaracharya claimed that the person who lodged the complaint is himself a history-sheeter and several serious criminal cases are already registered against him in various police stations. He further revealed that these allegations were not made by any outsider, but by a disciple of Jagadguru Rambhadracharya out of malice. Swamy says that this is just a petty attempt to assassinate his character. He has demanded immediate justice from the court instead of postponing the case.
There is no complete trust in the functioning of the police
Swami Avimukteshwarananda has expressed his deep doubts on the investigation system of the local police. He said that he does not have full faith in the functioning of the present police, hence he wants an investigation into this entire sensitive issue by a high level agency. He has promised to give his full cooperation to the investigating agencies so that the reality can be revealed to the world. Swamy urged that the case should be heard expeditiously so that there is no unnecessary delay in getting justice.
Action taken on the application of Ashutosh Brahmachari
This entire legal dispute started with the application of Ashutosh Brahmachari, who claimed incidents of sexual harassment of minor children in the ashram. He has also submitted a controversial CD to the court as evidence. In this connection, on February 13, the statements of two minors were recorded in the court with videography. Taking cognizance of these statements and the preliminary report of the police, the court has now issued a historic order to register an FIR.
