Mutant Mayhem 2′ changes release date
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are hitting the theaters sooner than planned, with Paramount moving Mutant Mayhem 2 to August 13, 2027.
Originally, the release was set for September 17, 2027.
This sequel follows 2023’s Mutant Mayhema hit praised for its humour and unique animation, grossing $181.9 million globally.
The upcoming film will be directed by Jeff Rowe with co-directors Kyler Spears and Yashar Kassai.
Jeff and Kyle return from the first film, reuniting with producers and writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
The producing team is completed by Point Grey;s James Weaver, Josh Fagen, Ramsay McBean, with Lukas Williams serving as executive producer.
Earlier this month, Paramount revealed plans to expand the TMNT franchise with multiple new ventures, including a major toy licensing deal with Mattel starting in 2027, an illustrated middle-grade book (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splinter’s Dojo), an adult novel based on the bestselling graphic novel The Last Ronin, a preschool-targeted YouTube series (Teeny Mutant Ninja Turtles), and themed pizzerias opening in Santa Monica, Monterrey, and São Paulo.
