India won the T20 series by defeating Australia
New Delhi. India achieved a historic win as they defeated Australia by 17 runs in the third and deciding match to take the series 2-1. This is the opportunity for the Indian women’s team to win the T20 series for the first time on Australian soil. In this match played in Adelaide on Saturday, India scored 176 runs in 20 overs due to the brilliant innings of Smriti Mandhana (82) and Jemimah Rodrigues (59). In reply, Australia lost the match after scoring 159 runs. For India, Sri Charani and Shreyanka Patil took three wickets each, while Arundhati Reddy took two wickets and Renuka Singh took one wicket.
Difficulties in the beginning of Australia
The Australian team, which came to chase the target of 177 runs, had a bad start. Shreyanka Patil gave the first blow to Georgia Wall by getting her caught by Renuka, who could score only 10 runs. Next, Renuka dismissed Beth Mooney, who scored just six runs. In this match, Ashley Gardner contributed the maximum score of 57 runs for Australia, but the performance of other batsmen was disappointing, out of which six batsmen could not even reach double figures. Ellyse Perry, Grace Harris and captain Sophie Molineux scored one, one and six runs respectively, while Kim Garth and Darcy Brown remained unbeaten on seven and eight runs respectively.
Partnership of Indian batsmen
India had a good start, but Shafali Verma was out early. Shefali, who was out on four runs, was made her victim by Kim Garth. After this, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues together took charge of the innings. Mandhana completed a brilliant half-century, while Jemimah also gave a successful end to her innings. Mandhana scored 82 runs in 55 balls, which included eight fours and three sixes, while Jemimah scored 59 runs in 46 balls. Other Indian batsmen had a disappointing performance, with Richa Ghosh getting out for 18, Amanjot Kaur and Deepti Sharma scoring one and one run respectively. Despite double the struggle, captain Harmanpreet Kaur returned to the pavilion after scoring two runs without getting out. For Australia, Annabel Sutherland took two wickets while Kim Garth and Molineux got one wicket each.

Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss in this match and decided to bat first. The Indian team made one change in its playing-11 and selected Shreyanka Patil in place of Kranti Gaur. At the same time, Australia also made one change in its eleven and included Grace Harris in place of Nick Carey.
