You should have the authority to speak… Shahid Kapoor got angry at the trollers, said, first see for yourself how much water you are in.

New Delhi . Shahid Kapoor is in the headlines these days for his new film O Romeo. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film was released in cinemas on February 13 and despite a sluggish opening, it is doing well on weekdays. Triptii Dimri is seen in the lead role with Shahid in the film. On the basis of his strong acting, Shahid has once again succeeded in winning the hearts of the audience. Meanwhile, his statement regarding trolling in an interview has become the center of discussion.

Recently, during a conversation on ‘The Right Angle’ show, Shahid openly expressed his opinion on social media trolling. He clearly said that those who say that trolling has no effect on them are deceiving themselves. According to Shahid, “If someone says it doesn’t matter to him, then I think he is mistaken. Negative things affect anyone.” He also added that it is not right to depend only on external validation, but it is equally important to understand the sentiment of the audience.

Shahid, in his own style, gave a befitting reply to the trollers and said, “You should have the capacity to speak, only then you should open your mouth. First see for yourself how much water you are in, then talk.” He told that he has learned this since childhood. Shahid, who grew up among big artists, said that earlier people used to avoid commenting without any reason, but nowadays social media has made everyone a habit of speaking.

Linking negativity to insecurity, the actor said that unless a person is scared, sad or insecure from within, he cannot be continuously negative. According to him, “If so much negativity is coming out then it shows how sad the inner world of those people is.” While giving a message to the youth, Shahid said that it is most important to keep oneself positive and believe in one’s hard work. He described trolling as a fight where standing up again after falling is the real victory.

  • Apart from Shahid and Trupti, ‘O Romeo’ also stars Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, Disha Patani and Tamannaah Bhatia in important roles. This is Shahid and Vishal Bhardwaj’s fourth film together. Before this, both have worked together in films like ‘Kaminey’, ‘Haider’ and ‘Rangoon’. ‘O Romeo’ has got a rating of 6.4 on IMDb and the audience’s response to the film is continuously improving.
