Storm alert in 10 states, winds will blow at a speed of 55 km, ‘Maha-thunder’ started in the Bay of Bengal!
Weather Update Today: February is now in its final stages and winter is slowly leaving. The weather patterns seem to be changing in the entire country. Heat has set in in North India, while rain has started in many parts of South India. Mild heat is being felt during the day in the capital Delhi, although the cold winds in between are still giving the feeling of winter.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated a major change. The low-pressure system formed in the Bay of Bengal has become active and its effect is gradually becoming visible in many states. A warning has been issued in South India of heavy rain, thunder and winds blowing at a speed of about 55 km per hour.
According to meteorologists, this system can suddenly spoil the weather in many states. The department says that this change will not be limited to just rain, but there will also be a danger of strong winds, lightning and high waves in coastal areas. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
Mercury will rise in North India
While the effect of rain is visible in South India, the temperature is increasing rapidly in North India. Due to clear sky and weak western disturbance, the sun is feeling strong during the day. This means that two different types of weather are being seen in the country, at some places it is storm and rain and at some places it is the beginning of summer.
Heavy rain alert has been issued in 10 states between 22 and 24 February. These include Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana.
