Vikram Bhatt on getting bail after two months: “Left after applying tilak from the soil of Mewar”
Vikram Bhatt walked out of jail after securing bail in Rs 30 crore cheating case after two months. The filmmaker and his wife, Shwetambari Bhatt, got bail from the Supreme Court in a high profile cheating case. Bhatt now says that he was hopeful that justice would prevail and that the law would find its way to him.

The filmmaker said that he spent close to three months inside the jail but never lost hope. He added that he was confident that the truth would come out. He also spoke about making a friend in jail and how he came to have faith and believe in the soil of Mewar.
The soil of Mewar
“I have spent two and a half months in jail. I was not only hopeful, but also completely confident that the law and order here, the truth will definitely come out. I made a friend in jail, who told me about the nature of the soil of Mewar. He told me that truth may be troubled in the soil of Mewar, but it cannot be defeated. I am leaving from here after applying the tilak of the same soil of Mewar, truth will always remain victorious here,” HT quoted him saying.

Vikram added that as a devotee of Lord Krishna, he understands that he has a new battle to fight. “I am a devotee of Lord Krishna. I lived in the very place where Lord Krishna was born. Understand that I am coming out twice as good as I was before. Like Lord Krishna, I have to fight a new battle. I don’t want to say much about law and order. I have complete faith in this country’s legal system. Whatever justice is done will be in everyone’s interest,” he added.
Vikram and Shwetambari had been arrested by the Rajasthan Police in December 2025 and were kept in Jodhpur Central jail. The complainant, Ajay Murdia, had alleged that he was lured to invest Rs 30 crore in the promise of a biopic on his wife, which didn’t materialise.
