According to railway officials, during this period, additional deployment of security personnel will be made to control the crowd of passengers and make the journey smooth. Along with this, passengers coming and going in the station premises will be managed through barricades and guidance system.
To control the crowd of passengers, some train platforms have also been changed at New Delhi Railway Station. Railway officials said that this time till now 742 Holi special trains running and coming from Northern Railway have been announced. Last year, about 280 special trains were run on the occasion of Holi, whereas this year, keeping in mind the safety and passenger convenience, about 350 special trains will be operated.
Railway officials said that special trains will be run for Northern Railway from other zones also, which will carry passengers from Delhi and surrounding stations. Apart from this, if crowd increases during the journey, arrangements have also been made to run unreserved special trains immediately. For this, a separate rack will be kept ready and these trains will be operated as per the demand.
On the occasion of Holi, the role of Northern Railway officials has been fixed by deploying them to control the crowd of passengers and ensure security at the major railway stations of Delhi. Keeping in view the convenience of the passengers, passengers with unreserved tickets at the station will be sent to a special facility camp, from where they will be able to travel after the train reaches the platform. To make this system effective, instructions have been given to prepare a temporary passenger convenience camp in Anand Vihar.
Along with this, mini control rooms are also being set up in Ghaziabad including New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin and Anand Vihar, so that the crowd and security situation at the station can be immediately monitored and necessary steps can be taken.
