Southern Vietnam hotspots overwhelmed by Tet holiday crowds
More than 300,000 visitors gathered at the foot of Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh Province on Feb 20, the fourth day of Tet, joining spring festival activities and making pilgrimages.
The mountain, an extinct volcano located largely in Binh Minh Ward, rises 986 meters and is the highest peak in southern Vietnam, earning the nickname “First Heavenly Mountain.”
During Tet holidays, both locals and tourists flock to the mountain to offer prayers for peace, prosperity, and good fortune.
The Year of Horse began on Feb 17.
