Terrorist attack in Lviv, Ukraine, female police officer killed in blasts

Kiev. A female police officer lost her life in the blasts that took place on Sunday morning in Ukraine’s western city of Lviv. Dozens of other people were injured during this period. Officials have called it a terrorist attack. These blasts took place when the police received information about intrusion in a store in the city.

According to the report of American news channel CNN, the first blast occurred after the police reached the spot. After this, after the arrival of another police team, a second explosion occurred. According to the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 23-year-old female police officer was killed in the attack.

During this period, a petrol car and a normal car were damaged. According to the Ukrainian National Police, about two dozen people have been injured. “This is definitely a terrorist incident,” Lviv Mayor Andrey Sadovy said in a Facebook post. Authorities have not yet said who carried out the attack.

After investigation, the police found that a home-made explosive device was detonated. 23-year-old police officer Victoria Shpilka lost her life in this attack. Shpilka married an officer last year.
