26/11 scene broke hearts: Akshay Khanna and Arjun Rampal wept bitterly on the sets of ‘Dhurandhar’

New Delhi .The film Dhurandhar (stalwart), directed by Aditya Dhar, has set a new record in Hindi cinema by achieving historic success at the box office. Releasing on December 5, 2025, this film deeply impressed the audience with its powerful story, strong acting and grand presentation. But there was one scene of this film which not only shocked the audience but also broke the actors present on the set to the core. Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal burst into tears after shooting a scene based on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. This emotional moment was revealed by R Madhavan himself in an interview.

In the film, Akshay Khanna played the role of Rehman Dacoit and Arjun Rampal played the role of ISI Major Iqbal. The 26/11 attack was recreated at a crucial point in the story, where the characters were seen celebrating after the attack. Acting as an Indian artist to celebrate the terrorist attack on Indians proved to be extremely painful for him. R Madhavan told that as soon as the scene was completed, both the actors were overcome with emotions and started crying bitterly.

According to Madhavan, it was not just acting for him. He realized the horrific conditions that the country had to face during 26/11. The memories of that tragedy are still fresh in people’s minds. When the artists had to play that painful incident from the opposite perspective, they could not control themselves emotionally. There was an atmosphere of silence and mourning on the set for some time. That moment made me realize that cinema is not just a medium of entertainment but also a powerful way to live emotions and realities.

Ranveer Singh is seen in the lead role in ‘Dhurandhar’. Along with him, actors like Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Akshay Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera, Saumya Tandon, Rakesh Bedi and R Madhavan have given height to the film with their impressive performances. The songs, music and action sequences of the film were also highly appreciated. Its story and presentation have made a special place in the hearts of the audience.
