Women will get employment near home in Bihar, livelihood committee will be formed in every ward here
Bihar News: An important step has been taken towards making women self-reliant in Bihar. Now ‘Livelihood Committee’ will be formed in all the wards of Patna Municipal Corporation area. This initiative is being taken under the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana. In this regard, Mayor Sita Sahu has issued necessary instructions to the officials.
Administration expedited the process
Following the instructions of the Urban Development and Housing Department, the Municipal Corporation Administration has expedited the process. It has been decided that the formation of committees in every ward should be completed within seven days. Besides, timely disposal of applications received from women will also be ensured, so that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of the scheme.
What is the main objective of the scheme
The main objective of this scheme is to organize the women of the city and connect them with self-employment. Livelihood committees will provide a platform to women at the ward level, where they can start small industries through self-help groups. The government believes that when women get employment near their homes, their income will increase and the financial condition of the family will be strengthened.
Responsibility assigned to Municipal Commissioner
The Municipal Commissioner has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the entire process in a transparent manner. For this, nodal officers will be appointed in each ward. These officers will monitor taking applications, providing training and distribution of benefits.
Special training programs will be run
After the formation of committees, special training programs will also be conducted for women. They will be made skilled by providing training in areas like tailoring, food processing, handicrafts, dairy, and small business. After training, financial assistance and guidance will also be given as per need.
The Municipal Corporation says that this initiative will prove to be a milestone in making the women of urban areas self-reliant. This will not only create new employment opportunities, but will also ensure social and economic empowerment of women.
