Dr Jitendra Singh to Inaugurate 58th Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop in Guwahati

Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, will inaugurate the 58th Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop (PRC) on February 23, 2026, at the Administrative Staff College in Guwahati, Assam.

The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) is organising the workshop in collaboration with other Central Government departments and ministries.

The initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of enhancing the “Ease of Living” for pensioners and family pensioners. Around 350 retiring employees posted across Assam and due for retirement within the next 12 months are expected to benefit.

The workshop will include sessions on retirement benefits, CGHS, cyber security, investment options, BHAVISHYA portal, Integrated Pensioners Portal, family pension, CPENGRAMS, ANUBHAV, and digital life certificates. These sessions aim to ensure a smooth transition for retiring employees.

In addition to the PRC, the Department is organising a Bankers’ Awareness Program in collaboration with the State Bank of India. The program will spread awareness among pension disbursing banks about rules and procedures relevant to central government employees.

An exhibition of pension disbursing banks will also be held during the workshop. Multiple banks will showcase pension-related services and guide retirees on opening pension accounts and investing their pension corpus in suitable schemes.

Officials emphasised that these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to digitisation, transparency, and ease of access in pension management.
