Illegal mining of coal inside Barni Ghat of Dhanbad, Saryu Rai raised the matter in the Assembly in the presence of the Chief Minister.

Ranchi: JDU MLA Saryu Rai raised the issue of illegal coal mining in Dhanbad in the Assembly on Saturday. Saryu Rai gave pictures of illegal mining to Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu. Chief Minister Hemant Soren was also present in the House when Saryu Rai raised this issue.

Illegal mining is being done with the help of heavy machines including JCB. Saryu Rai said that I want to help Minister Sudivya Sonu, the pictures I have given him are from only four days ago. Due to illegal mining, the adverse effect of changing the stream has been that the villagers there who get water from the drinking water project, are now not able to get water. Due to the collapse of the drinking water project, nearby villagers have demonstrated. The four photographs I have given clearly indicate illegal mining.

Saryu Rai further said that when the question was asked, the department should have inspected the place, it is openly happening that illegal mining is taking place inside the river. Many mouths have been created along the river banks. He further targeted the officials and said that why did such a reply come from the department, why didn’t the officials go there and do a physical inspection, when I have mentioned a particular place, the officials should have gone there. The minister himself will decide whether there is negligence on the part of the officials or not. I myself called the Deputy Commissioner and informed about the illegal mining, the senior SP there was informed about it. No action was taken. When the government, administration and mining officers do all this, it will be believed that they are in collusion in this, they are promoting illegal mining. What could be more condemnable than this?
