Big step by Bihar government, great news for women
Patna. Bihar government has decided to implement a new system to make women economically stronger in urban areas. Under the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana, ‘Jeevikaa Samiti’ will now be formed in every ward of the Municipal Corporation. In this regard, Patna Municipal Corporation Mayor Sita Sahu has issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials.
What is the specialty of this initiative?
The purpose of this step is not limited to just announcing the scheme, but to implement it at the ground level. By forming a committee in every ward, the process of identifying women, assessing their needs and connecting them with employment will be done in a systematic manner. With this, women will get work opportunities in their own locality or surrounding areas.
The process will be completed in seven days
The municipal administration has been given a clear deadline to form committees within a week. Emphasis has also been laid on speedy completion of the process of receiving applications and their scrutiny. The objective is that eligible women can get the benefits of the scheme without delay. To ensure that the entire system remains transparent, responsible officers will be deployed at the ward level.
Special emphasis on self-employment
The government’s strategy is to make women not job seekers but employment providers. For this, self-help groups will be activated and they will be linked to small industries. Income opportunities will be increased through household product manufacturing, food processing, tailoring, beauty services and other small businesses.
Training and guidance facilities
After formation of committees, skill development programs will be run for women. Through training, they will be given business knowledge, market connection and understanding of financial management. This will enable them to become self-reliant and contribute to improving the economic condition of their families.
Widespread impact expected from this scheme
This initiative is not only considered a means of increasing income, but is also considered an important step towards social change. When women are economically empowered, their self-confidence will increase and their role and influence in the family and society will be strengthened. If this scheme is implemented effectively, it can become a strong base for women empowerment in urban Bihar and change the economic picture of thousands of families.
