Manjeet’s story is like a nightmare. One evening in July last year, when she returned from work, she was not feeling well. By the next morning she had become unconscious. His hands and feet were as cold as ice, his lips were blue, and he was having great difficulty breathing. On reaching the hospital, doctors diagnosed him with septic shock and DIC (Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation).

This is a condition in which blood clots form inside the body. During treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Manjeet’s heart stopped beating six times. Doctors had given up hope of survival, but Manjeet has defeated death. However, to prevent infection, surgeons had to amputate both his legs (below the knees) and both his hands. Hands are coming forward to help with money.

So far, more than 30,000 pounds (about Rs 3.2 million) have been collected through the ‘Go Fund Me’ page, so that the life of Manjeet and her husband Kamaljeet Sangha can get back on track.
