disappointing performance of the middle order
Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 18 runs in 22 balls but was out in the 10th over. Washington Sundar and Hardik Pandya also did not last long. Keshav Maharaj took three wickets in a single over which included Hardik, Rinku Singh and Arshdeep. Shivam Dubey showed some fight by scoring 42 runs but the rest of the batsmen failed.
South Africa’s strong innings

But Dewald Brewis and David Miller made a partnership of 97 runs. Miller scored 63 runs while Brewis scored 45 runs. In the last, Tristan Stubbs scored fast runs.
Struggle of Indian bowlers
Jasprit Bumrah was the most successful among the Indian bowlers who took 3 wickets and gave only 15 runs. Arshdeep Singh got 2 wickets while Shivam Dubey and Varun Chakraborty took 1 wicket each. Despite the initial success, South Africa increased the run rate in the middle overs and reached 188.
Semi-final hopes dashed
This defeat proved to be very costly for India as the net run rate reached -3.80. Now the team will have to win the next two matches by a big margin and will also have to keep an eye on the run rates of other teams. South Africa’s bowlers, especially Jansen (4 wickets), performed brilliantly which completely changed the course of the match.
