Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar honored cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who performed brilliantly in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup-2026, in a grand ceremony on Sunday, 22 February 2026. On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over a check of Rs 50,00,000 to Vaibhav and made him proud by giving him a corset. Appreciating Vaibhav’s hard work and talent, the Chief Minister wished him all the best to set a new record for the Indian team in the future and bring glory to the country.
Bihar’s son did national pride
On this occasion, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi has brought pride not only to Bihar but to the entire country with his performance. He said that the state government is continuously working in creating modern and world class sports infrastructure and the players are being encouraged by providing them all kinds of facilities. CM said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a source of inspiration for the youth of Bihar and his success will become an example for other children.

The Chief Minister told Vaibhav, “You keep playing good cricket like this and bring glory to the state and the country. I wish that you create a new record in the Indian team in the future and bring glory to the country on the international stage.” During this, he described the hard work and discipline of the players as the key to success.
Expensive car received from Tata
Apart from the honor from the state, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was also gifted an expensive Curve car from Tata. This car was given in view of Vaibhav’s great achievements and excellent performance in the IPL. Vaibhav and his father themselves came to collect the car from the Tata showroom in Patna. Tata gave this car as a mark of respect and also expressed the hope of promoting Vaibhav’s cricket career.
