Iran-US tension: possible attack and increased international concern

Tension has increased between Iran and America. America has stepped up military preparations in the Middle East, while Iran has warned that it will target American bases if attacked. The former CIA officer also gave the date of the possible attack.

World News: The increasing tension between Iran and America has increased concern at the international level. In recent days, America has intensified military preparations against Iran, while Iran has issued a warning through its United Nations mission. Iran says that if America attacks, Tehran will target American airbases in the Middle East. Meanwhile, former US intelligence agency CIA officer John Kiriaku has also indicated the date of a possible attack.

The root of the Iran-US dispute is the nuclear weapons and ballistic missile program between America and Iran. The US claims that Iran is using these programs to increase regional power and support terrorist groups such as Hamas. At the same time, Iran calls it its sovereign right and rejects American interference.

America intensified military preparations in the Middle East

The US has recently deployed its aircraft carriers around Iran. These have 5th generation fighter jets like F-22 Raptor and F-35. Along with this, large military cargo aircraft like C-17 Globemaster are unloading weapons and essential materials at American airbases in the Middle East. Such preparations indicate that America is fully prepared for any situation.

According to The New York Times report, troops and equipment are being transferred from Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. In addition, changes and additional military forces have been deployed to US bases in Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, UAE, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. This situation is further increasing the tension in the Middle East.

Claim of former CIA officer John Kiriaku

Former CIA officer John Kiriakou claimed in New York’s Julian Dore Podcast that the US will reach a final decision on whether to launch a military strike on Iran as early as next week. Kiriakou said that a friend of his, who is himself a former CIA officer and has contacts with officials in the White House, indicated that the decision could be taken on Monday 23 February or Tuesday 24 February.

Kiriakou also said President Donald Trump has given Iran 10 days to accept a comprehensive resolution. The proposal includes halting the ballistic missile program, ending uranium enrichment and stopping support for groups like Hamas. However, this deadline does not guarantee averting a US military attack. He says that this is only a strategic move, and an attack can happen even after 10 days or two weeks.

Iran’s reaction

Iran has intensified the preparation of its missiles and military forces for a possible US attack. Tehran has warned that if the attack occurs, all US bases in the Middle East will be targeted. Iranian officials are pursuing a strategy to increase regional security and keep aircraft carriers at a safe distance from Iran.

Iran also said through the United Nations that if any American base is attacked, its response will be immediate and decisive. This warning has made the security situation in the Middle East more sensitive.

impact on global security

The impact of this increasing tension is not limited only to America and Iran. Oil and gas supplies may be affected due to US military presence in many countries of the Middle East and Iranian counter-preparations. There is a possibility of a rise in oil prices in the international market and uncertainty over trade routes.
