‘Did what he said…’ CM Nitish Kumar will now give Rs 2 lakh each to women, JDU revealed by putting up a poster in Patna
Patna: Bihar Government’s ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana’ is moving rapidly in the direction of making women self-reliant. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday transferred Rs 10,000 each to the bank accounts of 25 lakh women of the state.
Now in the next phase of the scheme, the process of providing additional help of up to Rs 2 lakh to eligible women has started. Janata Dal United (JDU) has given this information by putting up big posters in Patna.

It is written on the big poster on Veerchand Patel Path in Patna along with a big picture of Nitish Kumar – "Did what was said, started the process of giving Rs 2 lakh to a woman of every family under the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana."
Below is the slogan which reads, "Women will grow, Bihar will grow". This poster has been put up by JDU, which is giving the message of success of the scheme and fulfillment of the government’s promise.
How much amount has been given so far
Since the inception of the scheme, the government has sent a total of Rs 18,100 crore to the accounts of about 1.81 crore women. In the first phase, every woman was given Rs 10,000. On Monday, Rs 2,500 crore was transferred to 25 lakh women through DBT. Women who are running their small businesses well will now get additional assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh.
Two lakh rupees will be given in four installments
The government has clarified that Rs 2 lakh will not be given at once. This amount will come in four installments and the woman herself will have to contribute some amount. The government will give Rs 20 thousand in the first installment, the woman will have to invest Rs 5 thousand.
In the second, the government will give 40 thousand, the woman will contribute 10 thousand. In the third, government 80 thousand, women 20 thousand. In the fourth installment, Rs 60 thousand will be available for marketing, branding and packaging.
Strict conditions of the scheme
Women will have to participate regularly in group meetings. It is mandatory to keep complete accounts of income and expenditure. It will also be necessary to make FD or RD of small amount every month. All this so that the money is used properly and the business runs for a long time. The objective of the scheme is to strengthen the family and the economy of the state by connecting women with self-employment.
