Bumrah became the Indian bowler taking most wickets, broke Ashwin’s record
New Delhi. Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has made the record of taking most wickets for India in T20 World Cup history. He achieved this feat by performing brilliantly against South Africa in the Super-8 match. This match was played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Before this match, Bumrah needed three wickets to equal former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s record of 32 wickets. He took three important wickets for just 15 runs in four overs and left Ashwin behind.
Bumrah gave a strong start to the team by sending South African batsmen Quinton de Kock, Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch to the pavilion. With this performance, Bumrah has taken a total of 33 wickets in the T20 World Cup.
However, India had to face a crushing defeat of 76 runs in the match, which dimmed the shine of their performance.
