Threat to bomb Delhi’s schools, police started investigation and increased patrolling

Security agencies have become alert after receiving bomb threats through email to two major schools of Delhi, Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan and Air Force Bal Bharti School, Lodhi Road. According to officials, these threatening messages were sent electronically, after which security protocols were immediately implemented.

No explosive device found during investigation

Police and security teams conducted a thorough investigation of both the school premises, but no suspicious object or explosive device has been recovered so far. As a precautionary measure, classes are continuing in schools, but strict surveillance is being maintained across the campus. After the incident, high alert has been declared in the entire area.

Delhi Police has increased patrolling around school campuses and is trying to trace the origin of the threatening email with the help of cyber experts. Police have also appealed to parents and local people that if they see any suspicious activity, they should immediately inform them. Security agencies are investigating the email servers and technical details to find out whether the threat is genuine or part of a prank.

This matter has come to light at a time when many schools in Delhi had recently received similar threats during the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations. According to officials, at least three schools were threatened with bomb blasts during the exams. These included CRPF Public School, Dwarka, St. Thomas School, Dwarka and DAV Centenary Public School, West Enclave.

What do the officials say?

At that time too, as soon as the information was received, teams of police, bomb disposal squad, dog squad and fire department were immediately sent to the school premises. A search operation was conducted at all places, but no explosives were found. Officials say such threats are taken seriously and the safety of students and staff is the top priority.

At present, the investigating agencies are busy identifying the person or group who sent the email. The security system has been further strengthened, so that any possible threat can be dealt with in time and students’ studies can continue in a safe environment.
