The matter is of the current Assembly Deputy Speaker. He is linked to an alleged attempt on the life of Raghurama Krishna Raju, the roots of which go back to the year 2021. Raghurama Krishna Raju was then MP from Narsapuram and had allegedly made derogatory comments against the then Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). After this, a case was registered against him and the CID team reached Hyderabad and arrested him from his residence and took him to the CID office in Guntur. Raju alleges that during his custody he was brutally beaten and a conspiracy was hatched to eliminate him at the behest of the government. He claimed that this was not just a legal action but a political revenge. In this connection, in July 2024, he lodged a formal complaint with the Guntur Police.

Now, with the issue of notice to IPS Sunil Nayak, the case has taken a new turn. According to sources, the investigating agencies are investigating all aspects of the 2021 arrest, medical report and alleged torture in custody. This is being considered as a sign of a big conflict in political circles. At present, all eyes are on the direction of the investigation and possible legal action, which may create a new storm in Andhra politics in the coming days.
