Madhubala (Madhubala) was such a great actress of Indian cinema. Whose beauty and acting are still present in the hearts of people. Even after decades, when the song ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’ is played, her Anarkali image is shown again and again and people pay tribute to her. His life was as exciting and sad as the films. Madhubala’s real name was Mumtaz Jahan Begum Dehlvi. He was born on 14 February 1933 in Delhi in a Muslim family. She was the fifth among 11 siblings. The financial condition of the family was not good, so he came to Mumbai at an early age. At the age of just 9, he started working as a child artist in the film ‘Basant’ in 1942. Devika Rani later changed her name to Madhubala, which means ‘sweet beauty’.
He started playing lead roles in films at a very young age. In 1947, he got good recognition from the film ‘Neel Kamal’. In which worked with Raj Kapoor. In the 1950s, she became one of the biggest and highest-grossing actresses of Bollywood. Her beauty was so tremendous that in 1950 an American magazine called her ‘the world’s biggest star’. Even today fashion designers take inspiration from her Anarkali style sarees and outfits.
Madhubala’s brilliant acting and her style

Her love affair with Dilip Kumar is one of the most famous love stories of Bollywood. Both of them worked together in films like ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ and ‘Tarana’, but there were many difficulties in their relationship and eventually they broke up. Later, during her ill health, she married playback singer and actor Kishore Kumar in 1960. But unfortunately his health deteriorated further. She was suffering from ventricular septal defect (hole in the heart). He died on 23 February 1969 at the age of just 36. The entire film industry and millions of his fans were shocked. What were Madhubala’s last words?
In an interview given to Filmfare, Madhubala’s sister Shahida had said that Apa wanted to live. He had told, ‘He remembers Aapa’s last words when he said – I want to stay alive, I do not want to die. When will the doctors find a cure? Shahida’s eyes became moist while telling this. Shahida says, ‘The hole in his heart was discovered when he went to S.S. in Madras in 1954. Was shooting for Vasan’s ‘Chalak’. He had vomited blood. He was advised bed-rest for three months. But she continued working because she did not want her film to suffer. Due to his illness, there was excess blood production in his body. Therefore it used to come out through the nose and mouth. The doctor used to come home and take out blood bottles. He also had the problem of pulmonary pressure in his lungs. He used to cough all the time. He had to be given oxygen every four to five hours, otherwise he would become breathless. She remained bedridden for nine years and was reduced to just bones and skin. She kept crying.
