Lohardaga: In Lohardaga city on Monday, the day started very fast in terms of voting percentage for the Municipal Council elections, but as the day progressed, the voting percentage became slow. Voters left their homes early in the morning for the development of the city. The number of women among them was more. Here, tremendous enthusiasm was seen among the 102 ward candidates and ten candidates for the post of President regarding the selection of the candidate of their choice. However, the pace of voting slowed down as the sun rose over the head. Congress MP from Lohardaga Sukhdev Bhagat and former Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu exercised their franchise along with their families.

Voting continues in Municipal Council elections in Lohardaga, 43070 voters will decide the fate of 112 candidates.

The queues started before 7 am in 46 polling stations of the city. People wanted to be assured by voting first. Women were ahead in this. Men also inspired women to vote first. This time in the elections, even outside the booth, the candidates and their supporters were seen convincing the voters and convincing them in their favor. Out of total 43070 voters, till 9:00 am, 11.40 percent voters had exercised their franchise. After this, voting intensified and from 9 am to 11 am the turnout almost doubled to 24.32 percent. However, then the pace of voting slowed down and till 1 pm the percentage of voting was only 38.89. This was only 14 percent of the last two hours. Voting through ballot paper was cited as the reason behind this. As the crowd increased, so did the time taken for voting. By 3 pm, 52.87 percent voting had taken place.
