CM Yogi’s visit to Singapore: Meeting with foreign investors, Universal Success Group will invest Rs 6,650 crore in UP

Singapore/Lucknow. On the first day of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Singapore, Universal Success Group has signed three important Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for a total investment of Rs 6,650 crore in the state. The Chief Minister is on a visit to Singapore from 23-24 February. According to the statement issued by the state government in Lucknow, these investments will be in strategic areas like group housing, logistics and hyperscale data centers. These projects will generate more than 20 thousand employment opportunities.

According to the statement, the Chief Minister informed the investors about Uttar Pradesh’s policy stability, better connectivity and rapidly developing industrial infrastructure. Also invited the group to come to Lucknow for setting up the data center. The Chief Minister said that the Uttar Pradesh government is committed to providing support to investors at every level. According to officials, these three MoUs signed on the first day of the Singapore visit are considered important achievements in the direction of strengthening the economy of the state, giving a new direction to urban development and ensuring employment generation on a large scale.

He said that under the first project, an international level township will be developed on 100 acres of land near Jewar Airport in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIDA) area. According to officials, an investment of Rs 3500 crore is proposed in this project. With its coming on the ground, about 12000 people will get employment. He said that this project, which is going to give a new identity to the rapidly developing urban area around Jewar International Airport, is planned to be started in 2027.

According to the statement, the second project pertains to the development of a logistics park in 50 acres of land on the Kanpur-Lucknow National Highway. Officials said that an investment of Rs 650 crore is proposed in this project and about 7500 jobs are expected to be created. It is also planned to be started in 2027 and this logistics park will play an important role in accelerating the industrial and export activities of the state.

According to the statement, under the third project, a hyperscale data center park with 40 MW IT power capacity will be set up on 10 acres of land in Noida and Greater Noida area. According to officials, there will be an investment of Rs 2500 crore in this project and about 1500 people will get employment. According to the MOU, this project is planned to be started in the year 2028. Earlier on Monday, Adityanath held meetings with Singapore’s investment-focused institutions and discussed opportunities for sovereign investment partnerships in his state. He discussed the possibilities of sovereign investment in Uttar Pradesh in sectors like data centres, logistics hubs, renewable energy and industrial infrastructure.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with GIC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lim Chow Kiat and his delegation. He appreciated GIC’s existing partnerships in Uttar Pradesh including its partnership with IRB in the Ganga Expressway project and collaboration with Greenco in the state. Yogi Adityanath also held a meeting with DBS Group Chief Executive Officer Tan Su Shan and her senior leadership team.

The official statement also mentioned a meeting with Temasek Chairman Teo Chee Hean and his team in Singapore. According to the statement, Temasek has a global footprint of about US$400 billion, of which about US$50 billion is invested in India. This is the Chief Minister’s first foreign visit after his visit to Myanmar in 2017. He will be in Singapore on 23-24 February and Japan on 25-26 February.
