Top losers among Nifty 50 stocks in midday trades today, Feb 23: Hindalco Industries down 2.2%, ONGC drops 2.1%, Wipro falls 2.1%
Indian benchmark indices were trading in positive territory at midday on February 23, but several heavyweight stocks in the Nifty 50 index were under pressure.
As of 12 PM (IST), the Nifty was at 25,667.15, up 95.90 points or 0.38%. The Sensex stood at 83,175.03, higher by 360.32 points or 0.44%. Bank Nifty traded at 61,194.05, up 22.05 points or 0.04%, while Midcap Nifty was at 13,478.00, up 2.00 points or 0.01%.
Despite the broader market gains, the following stocks emerged as the top losers in the Nifty 50 pack during midday trade.
Hindalco Industries was among the biggest laggards, trading at ₹914.7, down 2.2%.
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation declined 2.1% to ₹272.9.
Wipro fell 2.1% to ₹205.5.
Infosys slipped 1.8% to ₹1,329.2.
Kwality Wall’s (India) dropped 1.7% to ₹27.3.
Cipla traded lower by 1.6% at ₹1,320.3.
Eternal declined 1.2% to ₹266.3.
Bharat Electronics was down 0.9% at ₹437.0.
Tata Steel slipped 0.8% to ₹206.7.
ITC fell 0.7% to ₹324.7.
The losses in these counters came even as benchmark indices maintained gains in midday trade. Further movement in these stocks will be tracked through the remainder of the session.
