Out-of-form batsmen will be out of Team India, coach gave clear indication
IND vs SA Match Highlights: After the defeat in the Super-8 match of the T20 World Cup against South Africa in Ahmedabad, the Indian team is in danger of being out of the semi-final race. The main reason for the huge defeat by 76 runs in this match played on Sunday was the shameful performance of the batsmen. After which the team management can drop at least one of the three out-of-form batsmen. Head coach Gautam Gambhir’s understudy Ryan ten Doeschate and Sitanshu Kotak have given these indications.

Actually, the batting of the Indian team against South Africa has been very poor. In which except Shivam Dubey, all the other batsmen completely failed. After this defeat, questions are being raised about the form of Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Verma and Rinku Singh. Ryan ten Doeschate and Sitanshu Kotak report that the Indian team management may drop at least one of the three out-of-form batsmen and rethink their same approach of playing too many left-handers in the top-order.
Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak made it clear that the team is really in trouble, “If the head coach and the team management feel that we need to do something different, then we will do things differently. Now the definite thought comes that if we have to change, then what do we change and how do we change.” Kotak clearly said, “Now we have reached a point where we have to think whether we need to do something different or stick with the same combination.”
Ten Doeschate was a little more candid and said that it is indeed a “concern” that there is no back-up specialist batsman in the team and that Sanju Samson, despite his poor form, could return to the team. The logic could be to bring in a right hander to break the boredom. “Do you stick with guys who you think have performed very well over the last 18 months and maybe have scored a few less runs? Or do we bring in Sanju, who is also a fantastic player and obviously having a right-hander in the top order helps tactically,” Ten Doeschate said.
Let us tell you that after the defeat against South Africa, India will have to win its next two matches at any cost to remain in the race for the semi-finals. After the defeat in the first match of Super-8, the team’s NRR has reached -3.800. That means they will need a big win to improve it. India has to play its next match against Zimbabwe on 26 February.
