Singapore’s taxi operator ComfortDelGro is probing an incident in which one of its taxis was seen being driven with its door open on Feb. 19.

“We are aware of the situation and are investigating the matter. The safety of our cabbies are our top priority,” a company spokesperson said on Feb. 22 in response to queries, as reported by The Straits Times.

A video posted on the SGRV (Singapore Road Vigilante) Admin Facebook page shows a yellow taxi travelling along the rightmost lane of a road with the driver’s side door ajar.

The footage then cuts to the vehicle on another stretch of road, where the driver appears to rest one hand on the driver’s side window briefly before shutting the door.

The post, which has drawn nearly 300 reactions, stated that the incident occurred along Bartley Road East at about 6 p.m. on Feb 19. It added that the driver was alone in the taxi.

ComfortDelGro did not say whether there were any passengers in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The group is listed on the Singapore Exchange and operates more than 54,000 vehicles across 13 countries, with significant businesses outside Singapore in the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, China and other Asian markets.

ComfortDelGro has diversified away from being predominantly Singapore‑based, with overseas revenue now contributing roughly half of its revenue, according to Fortune.
